Pujya Swami Satchidananda (1919 – 2008)

“Without loving man, we cannot love God.”

Swami Satchidananda, formerly known as Anantasivan, faced struggles and trials in his early life until at the age of 30 he encountered Swami Ramdas. Instantly connecting as Guru and disciple, Swami Ramdas guided him in his spiritual endeavours and later asked him to adopt the order of Sannyas. Guru-Seva and dedicated service became the cornerstones of his life as he served Swami Ramdas and Mother Krishnabai faithfully throughout their lives.

Following Swami Ramdas’ passing, Swami Satchidananda continued to assist Mother Krishnabai in managing the affairs of Anandashram. He was being groomed by his great Gurus to carry on their noble mission for the benefit of humanity. After Mother Krishnabai’s Mahasamadhi in 1989, Swami Satchidananda assumed the responsibility of running the Ashram, becoming its guiding spirit with his exemplary qualities. Following in the footsteps of his Masters, Swami Satchidananda embraced a life of Universal Love and Service, leaving a lasting impact on the Ashram and its devotees. Even after his dropping the body in 2008, his vibrant presence continues to be felt throughout the Ashram, attracting countless visitors from around the world.
